BUXAR-------------------------After a long period of uncertainty, the JDU has now announced its candidate for the Dumraon Assembly constituency. This time, it has placed its trust in Supreme Court lawyer Rahul Singh. Last time, it had given the ticket to Patna High Court lawyer Anjum Ara.
However, Anjum Ara received 46,905 votes and lost to CPI(ML) candidate Dr. Ajit Singh by 24,415 votes. The strategy now remains to be seen, which legal maneuvers and public debates Rahul Singh uses to sway voters. He is likely to win in the public's court. High Court lawyer Anjum Ara has been involved in local politics in Phulwari Sharif, Patna, for a long time. She subsequently served as the Chairperson of the Mahila Aayog and held important positions such as party spokesperson. Meanwhile, Rahul Singh, who outdid everyone to secure the party ticket, remained a government officer. After leaving his official position, he is now a Supreme Court lawyer, braving the legal intricacies of his career.
Growing resentment among workers: The continued sidelining of workers by top JDU leaders could prove costly.
There is considerable resentment among local workers. Local workers say that senior leaders have workers working down to the booth level. They carry the party's flag for five years and participate in every party event. Ultimately, they are sidelined and a candidate of their choice is imposed, bypassing local workers. NDA supporters say that similar decisions previously resulted in the Assembly elections, but this time the Lok Sabha elections were also lost. You'll see how this time too. The party's top leaders will understand the potential benefits and drawbacks of sidelining local workers.
